In
the NHRA, the weather forecast for the weekend had been
good but quickly downgraded as the racers started arriving
at the track for Wednesday’s parking. Thursday’s
time trials went off smoothly, and Friday started out
beautifully. However, with a poor forecast for the latter
part of Saturday (which would have been right in the
middle of eliminations), the decision was made to scrap
Friday’s second time session, move Friday night’s
Race Of Champions to Sunday and start eliminations instead...
